POCATELLO — A Rockland man who failed to stop at a stop sign was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, Pocatello police said.

James Smith drove past a stop sign at the 2000 block of Hiline Road around 7:45 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31, and was pulled over by an officer for a traffic violation, said police spokeswoman Dianne Brush.

When police ran Smith’s driver’s license and found there was a Bannock County warrant out for his arrest, they patted him down and found he had a bag of meth, said Brush.

Smith, 44, is being held at the Bannock County Jail on a $305 bond for his warrant. There is currently no bond set for the meth charge.
