South Carolina Coach Steve Spurrier to Retire

Ed Zurga/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier is retiring immediately.
According to ESPN, sources say the 70-year-old head coach made the announcement to players and coaches on Monday night.
The retirement was first reported by SI.com.
ESPN reports the interim coach will be announced on Tuesday.
Spurrier’s departure comes after the Gamecocks lost to LSU on Saturday for their fourth straight SEC game loss.
