The Haunted Mill has it all: plus other local Halloween attractions

  Published at  | Updated at

TETON — The Haunted Mill in Teton has everything a haunted house should: an old, historical structure filled with whispered lore, plenty of spooky space for spirits to hide, and enough area to make sure the scares keep on coming.

The Haunted Mill has been giving fright-seekers their fill since 1997, and they’ve gotten pretty good at it over the years. The mill is three stories high, and every level brings with it a different eerie element. There are crawl spaces and winding tunnels, labyrinths leading to dark unknowns and otherworldly creatures lurking in the shadows at every turn.

Dress warmly. There’s a chilling outdoor portion and likely to be long lines. And be sure to give the mill’s haunting legends (found on the mill’s website, thehauntedmillinteton.com) a read prior to arrival for an extra creepy experience.

Halloween Attractions

It’s the spooky time of year again, and Eastern Idaho is home to a number of top-notch haunted attractions. A few are perfect for families with young children, while others, depending on the time you visit, may leave even the brave with nightmares. Read on for a few of the best local attractions (ranked from least spooky to downright horrifying) to visit by Oct. 31.

Squealers Corn Maze

When the kids’ fun park of climbing walls, mini golf bumper boats and go-karts settles down for the season, the annual corn maze springs up. Supposedly, they planted sunflowers by mistake this year, so expect to see lots of the plants in this year’s maze. Post a Facebook selfie with the sunflowers and use #sunflowermazing to be entered into a weekly drawing. $7 for adults, $4 for kids.

Address:

439 North 4000 East, Rigby, Idaho 83442

Squealers Fun Park is easy peasy to find. Take Highway 20 to the North Rigby Exit and West Frontage Road toward Rigby Lake and just a little way down the road on the left hand side.
