Person of interest sought in Rexburg theft

  Published at

REXBURG – Police are asking the public for help in identifying a man who may be responsible for using stolen credit cards at several local businesses.

Rexburg police detectives say a wallet was stolen from the Hart gym at Brigham Young University-Idaho on Oct. 2 between 2:20 and 3:00 p.m. The man, shown in surveillance camera images, is considered a “person of interest” in the case.

Investigators tell EastIdahoNews.com the thief used credit cards from the wallet at Broulim’s, Walmart and Jamba Juice during the month of October.

“Photos from surveillance cameras all appear to be the same individual at the location of the theft and the business’s where the credit cards were used,” said Capt. Randy Lewis of the Rexburg Police Department.

If you recognize the person in the surveillance images, police ask you to call 208-359-3008 or leave a tip here.
