Police: Man arrested for dangling child over Idaho Falls hotel balcony

IDAHO FALLS — An Indiana man is in custody after police say he dangled his seven-year-old daughter over an eighth-floor balcony ledge Tuesday night.
Christopher J. Miller, 38, of Plymouth, Indiana is charged with felony aggravated assault.
Police were called to the Hotel on the Falls on River Parkway around 10 p.m. after receiving a report that Miller was dangling the child over the balcony and threatening to drop her from the eighth floor.
Officers say Miller was intoxicated and the mother told investigators she and Miller had been arguing during Miller’s visitation with their children.
When she left the room and went outside to her car, the mother told police she heard the daughter screaming and saw Miller holding the girl partially over the balcony railing.
The child managed to get away and ran outside to her mother.
Miller is in the Bonneville County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, Dec. 30.
