Blackfoot man arrested for drugs, possessing firearm
Published at | Updated atBLACKFOOT — A man is facing drug and firearm charges after being arrested Sunday, Jan. 10.
Blackfoot police stopped Benito Junior Mora, 38, around 7:45 p.m. in the area of Bergner and Meridian in Blackfoot for a minor traffic offense.
Police say they located ¾ pound of methamphetamine, ¼ ounce of cocaine, and two handguns (.45 and 9mm). The value of the seized drugs is about $10,000-$12,000.
Mora was arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of cocaine and felon in possession of a firearm. He also had a misdemeanor warrant out of Idaho Falls.
Mora is currently in the Bingham County jail. His bond on the new charges is $250,000 and a bond on the Idaho Falls warrant is $10,000.
His next court date is set for Jan. 21.
