UPDATE: Two children injured in Idaho Falls crash

UPDATE:

The following is a news release from the Idaho State Police.

At approximately 3:48 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle injury crash.

Mark Lyons, 43 of Idaho Falls, was traveling northbound on Yellowstone Highway in a 2005 GMC Sierra. Shelley Courts, 29 of Idaho Falls, was traveling southbound on Yellowstone Highway in a red 2002 Kia Spectra, and failed to yield while attempting to make a left turn.

Lyons’ vehicle collided with Courts’ vehicle at the intersection of Sunnyside Road.

Courts, a male passenger and two juveniles were taken by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Medical Center, in Idaho Falls. All occupants were wearing seatbelts except Courts’ male passenger.

Idaho State Police were assisted by Bonneville County Sheriff and Idaho Falls EMS.

IDAHO FALLS — Emergency crews are on-scene of a two-car crash at the intersection of Sunnyside Rd. and Yellowstone Highway.

The accident occurred just prior to 4 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 25.

It appears a white Gmc truck struck a red car. EastIdahoNews.com is on-scene at the crash.

At least one child was seen being loaded into ambulance and Idaho Falls Police have just called on Idaho State Police for backup.

Authorities advise residents to avoid the area.
