IDAHO FALLS — A 63-year-old man is being charged with aggravated assault after police he say he threatened his neighbor with a gun.

Larry D. Croft was also booked into the Bonneville County Jail on two outstanding Bonneville County warrants.

Police responded to the 600 block of John Adams Court around 6:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2 for an aggravated assault complaint. The victim reported that his power had been shut off and as he and a friend were turning it back on outside, they were confronted by Croft.

Croft allegedly began yelling and then threatened them with a .38 caliber handgun. The victim said he tried to calm Croft down but was unsuccessful. The victims were able to get away after they slapped the gun out of Croft’s hand and knocked him to the ground.

Police attempted to contact Croft at his residence but he refused to come to the door.

The IFPD SWAT responded and after some short negotiations, Croft came out of the residence.

Croft is currently being held on $50,000 bond for aggravated assault.
