IDAHO FALLS — An Idaho Falls teenager was rushed to the hospital after a one vehicle accident in Bonneville County, Saturday Jan. 9.

The crash occurred at about 11 p.m. on the 7000 block of North 5th West. The Idaho Falls Fire Department and Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.

Witnesses say a Scion tC was upside down in a canal. The driver, a 17-year-old male, who has not been identified, exited the vehicle by himself and crawled out of the canal. He had suffered a significant head wound.

The man seemed very confused and was unaware he had been involved in an accident. A witness provided first aid and calmed the man until emergency personnel arrived.

Bonneville County Sheriffs Sgt. Bryan Lovell tells EastIdahoNews.com slick roads were potentially a factor.

This section of North 5th East is a known for accidents. There have been three fatal accidents in the vicinity of the curve in 2012, 2010 and 2006. The Saturday crash barely missed a cross memorializing the 2012 fatal accident.
