The following is a news release from the Idaho Department of Fish & Game.

DUBOIS — Conservation Officers with the Idaho Department of Fish & Game are seeking assistance in locating those responsible for the illegal shooting and wasting of four elk about 3 miles south of Indian Creek Butte, west of Dubois and within 1 mile of the Medicine Lodge Road.

It was not no elk season in that zone at the time of the shooting, according to a news release.

Two cows and a calf were left in a field and another cow was left in sagebrush approximately 200 yards from the other elk. The three in the field were likely shot close to Christmas day, and the elk in the sagebrush was probably shot earlier in the week.

Senior Conservation Officer Tim Klucken is seeking information and an enhanced reward is being offered because of the egregious nature of the incident.

Anyone with information can contact the IDFG Citizens Against Poaching (CAP) Hotline at (800) 632-5999. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for rewards.
