Police: Rexburg woman facing drug charges after driving recklessly

REXBURG — A woman is facing drug charges after police say they discovered drugs and other illegal substances in her car.

Mary Hinga, 27, of Rexburg is charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, according to Rexburg Police Cpt. Randy Lewis.

Lewis tells EastIdahoNews.com Fremont County dispatch received a call Saturday, Jan. 2 that a woman, later identified as Hinga, was driving recklessly on U.S. Highway 20. Fremont deputies were unable to locate Hinga, but a short time later Rexburg police pulled her over at mile post 334 in Madison County.

Investigators say they found heroin residue, methamphetamine, syringes and other drug paraphernalia in Hinga’s car.

Hinga is in the Madison County Jail awaiting a court appearance. No bond has been set.

Court documents show this is Hinga’s first felony arrest in Idaho.
