The following is a news release from Bingham Memorial Hospital.

BLACKFOOT — Bingham Memorial Hospital in conjunction with Idaho Kidney Institute is excited to announce the groundbreaking ceremony of a new, state-of-the-art dialysis center on Thursday, March 10, 2016. This new facility will offer the latest technology in the region for the care and comfort of patients suffering from kidney disease.

The significance of the event is amplified by the fact that March 10th is World Kidney Day, a global campaign aimed at raising awareness of kidney disease.

“We chose to hold the groundbreaking ceremony on World Kidney Day because of the positive impact this center will have for individuals suffering from kidney failure,” says Dr. Fahim Rahim, Co-founder and Managing Partner of Idaho Kidney Institute. “We seek to not only provide the latest in nephrology and dialysis services, but to do so in an environment that is comfortable for our patients.”

For over 10 years, Idaho Kidney Institute has provided nephrology and dialysis services to residents of Bingham County. In recent years, Idaho Kidney Institute has outgrown the existing three thousand square foot dialysis unit operated within Bingham Memorial Hospital. The new, eleven thousand square foot, stand-alone building will offer more than three times the space.

“Drs. Fahim and Naeem Rahim and the Idaho Kidney Institute share our mission of providing world-class healthcare services to eastern Idaho,” says Jeff Daniels, CEO at Bingham Memorial Hospital. “Our on-going partnership with these extraordinary doctors will increase our capacity to serve the residents of Bingham County and individuals throughout eastern Idaho.”

Please join us on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Bingham Memorial Hospital. Refreshments will be served. Media packets will be provided to all reporters who attend. Please RSVP to Mark Baker by Wednesday, March 2nd to reserve your space.
