SALMON — A Boise man is facing a homicide charge after deputies say he shot and killed a man Saturday, Feb. 13 in Salmon.

Jedidiah Barton, 29, is accused of killing Jordan Stenersen, 32, formerly of Salmon but now living in Minnesota.

Lemhi County Sheriff Lynn Bowerman says deputies and EMS were called to 662 Hwy 93 North, just north of Salmon on the “Big Flat,” around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The female caller told dispatchers a man had been shot.

Bowerman says three Lemhi County deputies responded and assisted EMS workers in performing CPR on Stenersen. Stenersen was taken to Steele Memorial Hospital where he died.

Barton is being held at the Lemhi County Jail. He is expected to be arraigned this week.

Bowerman says Stenersen’s body is being taken to Boise for an autopsy to determine exact cause and manner of death.
