IDAHO FALLS — The final tallies of Idaho Falls School District 91 Souper Bowl are in. Each of the three participating schools Skyline High School, Idaho Falls High School and Compass High School worked together during the event and were able to surpass the district’s goal of collecting 100,000 cans.

Skyline High School collected 151,501 cans, Idaho Falls High School collected 36,365 cans of food and Compass High School collected 805 cans for a grand total of 188,671 cans, exceeding the districts goal by over 80,000 cans.

“It was an incredible effort and we are really proud of the students.” District 91 spokeswoman Margaret Wimborne in a press release, “I believe it’s the most cans ever collected in any Souper Bowl.”

Food collected from the event was donated to the Community Food Basket as well as the local Soup Kitchen and the Skyline High School food pantry. Last year, the Souper Bowl raised just under 92,000 cans.
