UPDATE: Woman rushed to hospital after being hit by car in crosswalk

UPDATE (10:45 a.m. Friday) — Idaho Falls Police spokeswoman Joelyn Hansen said a 55-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to EIRMC after being struck in the crosswalk at 17th and Woodruff.

The accident happened shortly after 5:00 p.m. Thursday evening. Hansen says a 2003 Chevy Tahoe driven by 30-year-old Jacob W. Reno of Pocatello struck the woman as he was turning right on red.

“The pedestrian, who had a walk signal, was crossing from the northwest corner of the street,” Hansen says.

Reno was cited for inattentive driving. The condition of the woman is unknown.

IDAHO FALLS — Several witnesses say a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of 17th Street and Woodruff Ave on Thursday, Feb. 11.

Idaho Falls Police and emergency crews responded to the incident just after 5 p.m.

Witnesses say the woman was in a crosswalk when she was hit. She was transported from the scene by ground ambulance.
