Sandy, Utah (KUTV) — A woman was killed Wednesday morning when she was pulled into an industrial mixer at a Utah grocery store.

Sandy police said Carmen “Jackie” Lindhart was working at a bakery mixer at a Reams store in Sandy when something happened that pulled her into the mixer.

A co-worker heard her screaming and ran to the machine and shut it off but the augers didn’t immediately power down, as per routine operation.

Lindhart died on the scene from her injuries. The accident happened around 10 a.m.

According to Sandy police Sgt. Dean Carriger, it doesn’t appear that there is any criminal element to the death but the investigation is ongoing by police and OSHA.
