Woman walks into hospital, says she jumped from car falling into Snake River Canyon

JEROME — A woman walked into a Twin Falls hospital Thursday and said she had jumped from a car as it was plunging into Snake River Canyon, The Times-News reports.

Investigators confirm a car had driven over the rim but admit there are a lot of unanswered questions.

“It doesn’t sound like anyone was in the vehicle,” Jack Johnson, a chief deputy in the Jerome County Sheriff’s Office, told the Times-News. “We’re hoping that’s the case.”

The woman reportedly went to St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center about 10:30 a.m. and told staff her car went into the canyon.

Police planned to reach the car by boat Friday and they’re working to figure out who owns the vehicle.
