City crews responding to flooded roads in Idaho Falls

IDAHO FALLS — Heavy rainfall caused several residential streets in Idaho Falls to flood Sunday.

City officials have not received any reports of flooded homes, but public works crews have noticed several clogged drains that may be contributing to flooded streets.

City spokeswoman Kerry McCullough said public work crews are driving around assessing parts of the city. They are also opening storm drains to deal with street flooding.

If residents have flooding in their streets and are concerned, they can call the public works dispatch number at (208) 612-8439. The dispatch center can sent a crew to evaluate the situation.

The National Weather Service in Pocatello estimates Idaho Falls has received between 0.5- to 1-inch of rain as of 6 p.m. Sunday.
