REXBURG — The Idaho Department of Fish and Game and Madison Sheriff’s Office darted and relocated three moose Sunday.

A bull, cow and calf wandered into Rexburg near the new Walmart on 2nd East during the early morning hours. Authorities were called to remove the three animals.

Fish and Game spokesman Gregg Losinski said the bull moose still had antlers when the capture started, but one antler fell off during the relocation and the other was sawed off.

The moose were taken to Little Lost River drainage to be released.

Eastern Idaho is seeing increased moose activity this year. Sunday’s incident is the latest of a number of relocations in the past month.
