IDAHO FALLS — A Rigby man has pleaded guilty to raping a teen, after a witnesses said he posed as a 17-year-old on Facebook to meet up with the girl.

Trevor Johnston, 19, pleaded guilty to one count of rape on Wednesday in Bonneville County. As part of a plea agreement, Johnston also agreed to plead guilty to a previous rape charge he faces in Jefferson County.

Court documents show Johnson posed as a 17-year-old and met a 14-year-old girl on Facebook just days after he bonded out on a Jefferson County rape charge in early December. Johnston talked her into having sex while her parents were out of town. On Jan. 30, Johnston and the victim met up again, drank alcohol and had sex in an Idaho Falls home. Documents show the girl said Johnston did not force her to have sex, but “she said no three times and then just gave up.”

The following day, the victim told her mother about what happened. The mother called police and took her daughter to the hospital. Johnston was arrested a few hours later.

The earlier rape charge in Jefferson County stems from an alleged sexual encounter with a teenage girl under the age of 16 from July 2015.

On Wednesday, during a court hearing District Judge Alan C. Stephens order a psychosexual evaluation to be perform along with a pre-sentencing investigation. Johnston’s plea agreement leaves sentencing recommendations open for argument by the state and defense attorneys.

He is scheduled to be sentenced May 11. Johnston faces a minimum of one year in prison for each rape charge and can receive up to a life sentence.
