IDAHO FALLS — The mother of a man who was lost nearly 12 hours has a message for the community: Thank you.

Chase Johnson, 20, was found around 8:00 a.m. after he was reported missing Thursday night. Johnson had been seen near 350 Pevero Drive in Idaho Falls, south of the Sage Lakes Golf Course. Police reported the man has a diminished mental capacity equivalent of a 5- to 7-year-old child.

Johnson’s mother, Michele Mangum, sent the following message to EastIdahoNews.com Friday evening:

CHASE IS HOME!! His blood sugar was very low but we got that under control. His leg and hip hurt from a lot of walking. He said he crawled for a while cause he couldn’t walk anymore.

We are all in the need of a hot shower and a soft bed! Thank you everyone for your kind wishes, thoughts, prayers and help during this challenge. I am grateful for so many wonderful friends and family. We love you all more than you will ever know!

Thanks will never be enough to IFPD, BONNEVILLE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPT., IDAHO STATE POLICE, BONNEVILLE SEARCH AND RESCUE, THE AMAZING HELICOPTER PILOTS AND THE EXTREMELY TALENTED K9 SCENT DOG/HANDLER, AND EASTIDAHONEWS.COM. THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR BRINGING CHASE HOME!
