Two rollover accidents within minutes of each other in Jefferson County

MENAN — Two separate drivers walked away from rollover accidents in rural Jefferson County on Sunday.

The cause of both single-vehicle accidents is under investigation by Idaho State Police.

The first accident was reported shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday. Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Central Fire District responded to East 650 North and North 3400 East, just outside of Menan, for a reported rollover. A light blue four-door vehicle had flipped on its side. No one was injured in the accident.

Moments later another rollover accident was reported on North 3500 East. A black SUV had rolled onto its roof near a rural residence. Jefferson County requested Idaho State Police respond, as they were still investigating the first accident. No injuries were reported at this accident either.

EastIdahoNews.com spoke with Idaho State Police Sgt. Marvin Crain on the scene who attributed the lack of injuries at the crashes to seat belts.

“Seat belts save lives,” he said.
