IDAHO FALLS– A local man was arrested for multiple crimes after police say he unlawfully entered a home in the 500 block of Highland on Thursday afternoon.

According to reports, officers responded to a house around 1:50 p.m. after they received information of a man trespassing or making unlawful entry. During their investigation, officers contacted Terrence M. Walsh at the home.

Police say as they were placing Walsh, 22, under arrest for unlawful entry, he began resisting, including kicking and hitting a police officer. An officer deployed his Taser, but it was ineffective. Additional officers responded to help and after a struggle were able to detain Walsh.

Walsh, of Idaho Falls, was booked into the Bonneville County Jail for felony battery on an officer, obstructing and delaying an officer, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful entry, providing false information to police and five warrants.
Walsh’s warrants included criminal charges for grand theft, unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and felony probation violation.

Police say that because they used a Taser on Walsh, he was taken to the hospital for a medical clearance before being booked. An officer was also treated for his injuries.
