IDAHO FALLS — Faustino A. Anaya will spend at least 10 years in prison for the kidnapping of Brandon Bykonen.

On Wednesday, District Judge Bruce Pickett sentenced Anaya to 25 years in prison with a fixed term of 10 years and 15 years indeterminant. It was the maximum sentence allowed by law.

Anaya, 19, was among five people charged in connection with the kidnapping and attack of Bykonen on Aug. 27. Bykonen says he was blindfolded and tied up before being driven to the foothills of Bonneville County.

Anaya was originally charged with first-degree kidnapping and two delivery charges but, as part of a plea agreement, the kidnapping charge was reduced and a delivery charge was dropped. He pleaded guilty to second-degree kidnapping on Feb. 5.

Two suspects in the kidnapping case are still due to be sentence. Sara Oden, who pleaded guilty to aggravated battery March 1 was scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday, however, the hearing was rescheduled to May 4. The hearing was rescheduled because Oden’s pre-sentence investigation was not complete.

Devan Crawford will be sentenced on May 11. He previously pleaded guilt to felony kidnapping along with felony use of a deadly weapon.

Alvaro Oseguera was sentenced on March 15. He received the same sentenced, 10 years fixed with 15 years indeterminate.

Ivan Sandoval was sentenced on March 17. He received a three year sentence plus seven years indeterminate, however Sandoval was placed on a rider program.
