A.G. asking for additional information in teen sex abuse case

BOISE — Attorney General Lawrence Wasden is encouraging anyone with information about the recent arrest of a Boise man accused of sexual battery of a minor to contact investigators with his Internet Crimes Against Children unit.
Last month, the Internet Crimes Against Children unit (ICAC) and the Garden City Police Department arrested Quinton N. Winfrey, 44, of Boise. Assistance was also provided by the Ada County Sheriff’s Office and the Boise Police Department.
Winfrey has been charged with felony sexual battery of a minor sixteen or seventeen years old, Wasden said. The investigation began when a 17-year-old student reported receiving sexual messages online from Winfrey, who at the time was the student’s former school bus driver.
Investigators say Winfrey was a driver for a contracted bus company hired by the Boise Public School District, and some of the routes he was assigned included Capital High School, River Glenn Junior High School and Pierce Park and Shadow Hills elementary schools.
The investigation remains ongoing, and the Attorney General is urging anyone with information to contact (ICAC) investigators at (208) 334-4527.
The Ada County Prosecutor’s Office is prosecuting the case. Bond for Winfrey has been set at $100,000.
