Aquirre of Idaho Falls was booked into the Bonneville County Jail, according to a news release.

According to police, officers responded to the 200 block of East 2nd Street around 1 a.m. for a report of a crash. While en route, officers were notified the driver, later identified as Aquirre, had attempted to flee the scene but was stopped by a bystander.

When officers arrived they found Aquirre had crashed a blue GMC Sierra Pickup Truck into a parked maroon GMC Sierra Pickup Truck.

During their investigation and contact with Aquirre, officers determined he was under the influence of alcohol. It was also discovered that Aquirre allegedly stole the blue Sierra Pickup Truck from the 300 block of Second Street.
