Idaho State Police investigate injury crash near Preston

The following is a news release from Idaho State Police.

PRESTON — Idaho State Police are investigating a two-vehicle injury crash on SH34 at milepost 17.5, north of Preston.

The accident occurred at 5:34 p.m. on Saturday, according to a news release.

Val Reeder, 57, of Preston, was southbound in a 2012 Dodge pickup towing a flatbed trailer. Eric Jones, 26, of South Jordan, Utah was also southbound in a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta.

Jones attempted to pass Reeder as he was turning left across the highway, and struck the trailer. Jones’ passenger, Anairon Faust, 31, of Provo, Utah was transported by ground ambulance to Franklin Medical Center in Preston.

All occupants were wearing seatbelts. The Idaho State Police was assisted on scene by Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
