IFPD seeking information from unidentified witness in Common Cents stabbing

IDAHO FALLS — Authorities are asking an unidentified witness at Saturday’s early morning stabbing at the Common Cents on 17th Street to contact the department.
Idaho Falls police detectives received information there was another eye‐witness — a male in a white truck — at the scene who captured the stabbing on video. This information is of interest to detectives investigating the case.
The witness is asked to contact the IFPD Detectives Division at (208) 529‐1200 referencing case #2016‐04032 as soon as possible, according to a police news release.
Twenty‐year‐old Cristian J. Salgado was arrested for aggravated battery early Saturday morning after he stabbed a 39‐year‐old Idaho Falls man outside the Common Cents store.
Witnesses told police Salgado stabbed the victim and fled the scene in a red Dodge Magnum. He later crashed the vehicle and was arrested and booked into the Bonneville County Jail for driving under the influence and felony eluding.
