The following is a news release from Portneuf Medical Center.

POCATELLO — Portneuf Medical Center physicians, leaders, clinicians and patients gathered on Tuesday April 5th, to celebrate the Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Center of Excellence award, given to Portneuf Wound Care & Hyperbaric Center. Dan Ordyna, CEO of PMC received the award on behalf of the hospital.

The award was granted because high quality standards were achieved: patient satisfaction rates higher than 92 percent, a healing rate of 93 percent, as well as less than 30 median days to achieve wound healing.

The Center has achieved this prestigious award for five consecutive years, which means that it has received it without interruption since its opening in July 2010. The Center was granted this prestigious award by Healogics, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services.

Out of nearly 800 Wound Care Centers in the country, 110 were honored with this award and only a very small percentage of them have been able to obtain it 5 times in a row. The award is named after Dr. Robert A. Warriner III, a prominent national leader in wound care and the former Chief Medical Officer for Healogics.
