Salt Lake Children’s Choir to perform at BYU-Idaho

REXBURG — The Salt Lake Children’s Choir will perform Friday, April 22, at 7:30 p.m. in the Barrus Concert Hall at Brigham Young University-Idaho in Rexburg.

The choir’s BYU-Idaho performance will include works by Palestrina, Schubert, Brahms and other masters, as well as traditional music from Europe and the Americas. It will conclude with the touching “A Day in Spring,” written for the choir by its director.

Founded in 1979 by director Ralph B. Woodward, the choir emphasizes natural vocal development and the performance of music of the great masters, as well as outstanding folk and contemporary music from many lands.

Widely admired for its pure, angelic sound, the choir has been featured at numerous conventions of the American Choral Directors Association and performed with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. The choir has performed on numerous film sound tracks, as well as promotions for NBC, CBS and Walt Disney Productions.

The choir’s BYU-Idaho performance will include works by Palestrina, Schubert, Brahms and other masters, as well as fascinating traditional music from Europe and the Americas.

Tickets for the Center Stage concert are $8 for the general public and $4 for BYU-Idaho students. Tickets can be purchased at the BYU-Idaho Ticket Office, by calling 496-3170 or online at tickets.byui.edu.
