IDAHO FALLS — An Idaho Falls man has been taken into custody following a several hour standoff with police on Lovejoy Street.

Idaho Falls Police report 56-year-old David Grose had barricaded himself inside his home on Lovejoy and was refusing to come out. Police spokeswoman Joelyn Hansen said earlier in the day, the man had allegedly threatened his neighbors with a handgun over a parking dispute.

Police tried to communicate with Grose for several hours.

At around 8 p.m. SWAT and emergency personnel were called to the scene. Police blocked off Lovejoy Street and the surrounding area.

Police officers were observed trying to communicate with the man inside the house with a loud speaker.

At about 9:45 p.m. police confirmed the man had left his home and surrendered to police peacefully.

He was arrested for felony aggravated assault and was taken to be booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
