AFTON, Wyoming — Lincoln County charges against Jace Chadwick, 20, stemming from two burglaries in the Idaho Falls area, have been dropped. According to the Lincoln County Circuit Court, the felony charges of being in possession of stolen property have been dismissed. Chadwick has also been transferred to the custody of Bonneville County.

Chadwick was arrested by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, following his alleged connection to burglaries at both the Cabela’s and Sportsman’s Warehouse in the Idaho Falls area. The incidents took place on March 25 and March 29 respectively. Some 14 firearms were stolen from the stores.

The arrest took place in Lincoln County, on Wednesday, March 30. On Tuesday, April 5, the Lincoln County Circuit Court dismissed the felony charges against Chadwick. According to information provided by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, evidence and suspect were located in Lincoln County.

The Lincoln County Sheriff¹s Office and the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office worked together on the case.

“Basically we were contacted by Bonneville County and asked to follow up on a suspect that had been identified relating to the burglaries,” Lincoln County Sheriff Shane Johnson said. “We did that and Chadwick was taken into custody. We worked with Bonneville County on this because the suspect and evidence was in our county while the burglaries had taken place in another county and another state.”

Chadwick is facing felony burglary and possession of stolen good charges in Bonneville County relating to his alleged involvement in the gun thefts.
