IDAHO FALLS — High winds disturbed travel, power, internet and destroyed property throughout eastern Idaho on Monday, May 9.

The National Weather Service measured average winds speeds between 19 to 62 miles-per-hour measured throughout the region.

Some 24,000 Rocky Mountain Power customers in the Upper Valley were without power at one point during the day due to an overheated insulator. All power had been restored by 5 p.m.

Additionally, I-15 between Roberts and Idaho Falls was closed due to dust storms for a significant portion of the day. The road reopened at about 6 p.m.

The following are reader submitted photos of damage caused by today’s wind.
