UPDATE: Local man identified in fatal Chubbuck crash

The following is a news release from Idaho State Police:

CHUBBUCK — On May 12, 2016, at approximately 4:13 p.m. the Idaho State Police investigated a single vehicle fatality crash on Yellowstone Ave (U.S. Highway 91) at milepost 81, south of Siphon Road in Chubbuck.

Randy Cherry, age 67, of Chubbuck, was travelling southbound on Highway 91 in a 2001 Dodge 2500 Pickup, when his vehicle left the right side of the roadway. The truck rolled, struck a power pole, and came to rest off the right shoulder on its top.

Cherry was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. He was not wearing a seatbelt. The roadway remains blocked from the time of the crash, and crews remain on scene working on the power lines.

This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

The Idaho State Police is currently on scene of a fatality crash on Yellowstone Avenue in Chubbuck between Park Lawn Drive and Siphon Road.

Both lanes of Yellowstone Avenue are currently blocked.
