Pocatello police arrest man for first-degree murder

Magistrate Judge Rick Carnaroli ordered that Blaney remain in the Bannock County Detention Center on a $1,000,000 bond.

Blaney was appointed a public defender, Randall D Schulthies, to represent him. Blaney is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on June 8.

POCATELLO — Pocatello police have charged Timothy David Blaney, age 20, with first-degree murder in the death of 22-year-old Skylar T. Huffield. The State of Idaho will seek the enhancement penalty for the use of a “deadly Weapon” in the commission of a Crime.

The state is requesting a $1,000,000 bond.

Officers responded to a report of a disturbance at 3842 Hawthorne Road at 3:15 am yesterday (Wednesday). Officers located a white male that had received severe injuries, who was transported by ambulance to the Portneuf Regional Medical Center. The victim, Huffield, succumbed to the injuries today.

Witnesses to the incident identified Blaney as the suspect. He was located by Pocatello Police at 6:35 a.m. and arrested. Blaney is incarcerated in the Bannock County Jail.
