Police: Pocatello man kidnaps woman, uses stolen car
Published atPOCATELLO — A Pocatello man kidnapped a woman and drove her in a stolen car, police say.
Gary Prentice Henson, 43, used threats of physical violence to persuade a woman he knew to enter a car on Sunday, May 22, Pocatello police spokesperson Dianne Brush said.
The alleged kidnapping happened in Blackfoot but ended in Pocatello. Police say witnesses in Blackfoot saw the two fighting prior to getting into the vehicle. The woman was physically assaulted during the drive to Pocatello, Brush said.
Pocatello police made contact with Henson and the victim near the intersection of Gould and Day. Police say the vehicle Henson was driving was reported stolen from Wyoming.
Henson was arrested on four warrants, second-degree kidnapping and felony grand theft by possession.
Henson was being held in the Bannock County Detention Center with no bond as of Monday afternoon.
