POCATELLO — A woman was cited for assaulting two police officers after an altercation at a Pocatello home Friday evening.

Rebecca Sue Ann Carter, 35, is facing two charges of assault upon an officer, unlawful entry, resisting and obstructing, battery and alcohol possession.

Police were called to a home on the 400 block of North Hayes around 10:00 p.m. The residents told investigators Carter showed up at their home and started talking to their children.

The homeowners, who said they did not know Carter, told officers the woman walked into their house and refused to leave.

“When officers approached Carter, she punched two of them in the face and continued to kick and hit as they attempted to gain control of the situation,” Pocatello Police Department spokeswoman Dianne Brush said.

Police say Carter appeared to be under the influence of narcotics. She is scheduled to appear in court this afternoon.
