REXBURG — Student enrollment at Brigham Young University-Idaho continues to grow each year — both on-campus and in its online programs.

Statistics released for spring semester 2016 show a total campus enrollment of 14,694 students, which is nearly a thousand more students compared to 2015’s enrollment of 13,742, according to a BYU-Idaho news release.

“We are continuing to grow and we are excited to have more and more students,” university spokesman Brett Crandall told EastIdahoNews.com. “We are expecting to grow every semester.”

This semester the student body makeup is split between 7,283 male students and 7,411 female students.

The number of online students, including in the university’s Pathway program, for spring semester 2016 is 20,711 — an increase of more than 4,500 students compared to last spring’s online student enrollment of 16,171.

The Pathway program is pre-college educational program designed to give students the confidence and skills needed to succeed in college. Students earn college credit that is eligible for transfer to BYU-Idaho and other universities. The program takes three semesters to complete.
