SUV carrying at least one child crashes into Bonneville County canal
Published at | Updated atIDAHO FALLS — An SUV containing three people, including at least one child, crashed into a canal near North East Bonneville St. shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday.
The canal was full of nearly five feet of water. Idaho Falls Fire Battalion Chief Cody Anderson tells EastIdahoNews.com the occupants were able to safely get out of their Ford Bronco before emergency crews arrived.
Idaho Falls police officers and two ambulances responded to the scene. All three passengers left the scene in an ambulance.
Investigators are working to determine what caused the female driver of the Bronco to drive the vehicle into the canal. A tow truck arrived around 9:30 p.m. and the vehicle was removed from the water by 9:45 p.m.
