Two people rushed to hospital after slamming into semi-truck on I-15

BLACKFOOT — Two people were rushed to the hospital after they hit a semi-truck multiple times on I-15 late Thursday night.
Idaho State Police say Logan Barnett, 23, of Idaho Falls was travelling northbound on I-15 near mile marker 92 in a Chevy Silverado in the left lane. Barnett was attempting to pass a 2007 Kenworth Semi, driven by Aleka Leausa, 64, of Kearns, UT, when he failed to stay in his lane.
Barnett struck the semi multiple times and came to rest in the left lane of travel, according to investigators.
Barnett and his passenger, Chelsea Acuna, 23, of Pocatello were transported to Bingham Memorial hospital via ambulance.
Police say Barnett and Acuna were not wearing seatbelts and alcohol was a factor in the crash.
