MOUNTAIN HOME — Police have two juveniles in custody related to severe acts of vandalism at two different schools. They have not yet been charged and, due to age, their names have not been released, according to KIVI TV.

Mountain Home police are investigating two separate elementary school vandalisms they believe took place between about 11 p.m. Wednesday and sometime after midnight on Thursday.

Early reports estimate the damage at around $50,000. Mountain Home School District Supt. James Gilbert described the damage for us. “In North Elementary, at least a dozen windows were broken out and (the suspects) trashed a number of classrooms. They flooded two rooms by plugging sink drains and turning the faucets on. And they completely destroyed a copier -– to the tune of about 25 thousand dollars.

“At East, they destroyed the glass panels and dumped paint on two copiers. They stole i-Pads and (an undisclosed amount of) money from a teacher’s classroom. They also sprayed mustard all over the place. It was a massive act of vandalism.”

Many of the teachers helped out yesterday and cleaned up a lot of the damage, Gilbert said.

The investigation is ongoing.

No arrests have been made.
