The accident occurred before 5 p.m. when the truck, that was filling pot holes, struck the poles knocking them into a nearby tree.
Idaho Falls Power is on scene attempting to repair the damage. Power to most of the affected customers was restored by 7:00 p.m.
The outage also knocked out the traffic lights at the intersection of 12th Street and Woodruff Ave. City officials say to treat the intersection as a four-way stop until power is restored.
