Fatal crash on U.S. 89 near Bear Lake

FISH HAVEN — Idaho State Police are investigating a one-vehicle fatality crash northbound on U.S. Highway 89 at milepost 3.

The accident occurred shortly before 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

Dalton Parrish, age 26 of Spokane, Washington, was northbound on Highway 89 north of the Utah border in a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze.

Parrish’s vehicle left the roadway and struck some trees on the right side of the road. His vehicle then caught fire.

Parrish was transported to Bear Lake Memorial in Montpelier and then transported by air ambulance to the University of Utah in Salt Lake City where he succumbed to his injuries.

Parrish was not wearing his seat belt. The investigation is ongoing.
