Parents: Our little girl is a miracle baby thanks to the power of prayer

Glendale, AZ (KPHO) — A baby that was never supposed to survive is doing well, thanks to some extraordinary medical care and the power of prayer.

Ron and Nadia, who live in Cottonwood, always believed that their baby girl Esther was going to pull through.

“I look at it that God is bigger than medical science,” said Ron. “He has power over life and death and he will have the final say.”

The couple said it was back in April that Nadia’s water broke during her 18th week of pregnancy.

Doctors said to expect a miscarriage, and the baby had less than a 1-percent chance of survival, but Ron and Nadia did not believe it.

“I just see a miracle,” said Nadia. “God is amazing to create such a tiny thing with perfect hands and perfect feet.”

“At 23 weeks, her lungs aren’t working and not developed,” said Ron. “So many complications but they were able to get her stable.”

Five weeks later Nadia delivered the baby and Banner Thunderbird in Glendale on March 18th.

Baby Esther was only 1 pound 4 ounces.

The baby is expected to stay in the hospital another 3-4 months until she is strong enough to go home.

“She was born at 1 pound 4 ounces and now we are up to 1 pound 5 ounces,” said Ron. “We’ve made baby steps, which is a pretty big deal.”

The family has limited health insurance coverage, so medical bills have started to climb.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family.
