POCATELLO — Three New Yorkers were arrested in Pocatello after police say they attempted to fraud a local cell phone company.

Franchesca M. Moguete, 22, Hasel E. Beltre Sanchez, 25, and Damelly Domigues De Jimenez, 28, were arrested at the AT&T on the 1700 block of Hurley Dr. after they allegedly tried to add lines to existing accounts using false information.

Police say a customer service representative became suspicious of the three suspect’s activities after recognizing one of the suspects from an internal company memo. When the suspects attempted to use false information to activated additional phone lines store employees contacted police.

Police responded to the store just after 2 p.m. Monday, and took the three into custody. Pocetello Police spokeswoman Dianne Brush said officiers interviewed the suspects for several hours and discovered they were part of a ring of people from out-of-state, who attempt to open fraudulent accounts, in order to receive new phones and then ship the phones out of the country for profit.

All three were charged with felony burglary, Moguete and Beltre Sanchez received an additional charge of felony possession/fraudulent use of a financial transaction card.

All are held in the Bannock County Detention Center and will make their first court appearance today.
