IDAHO FALLS — Police are investigating after being called twice to Whittier St. late Thursday night.

Idaho Falls Police Capt. Darren Cook tells EastIdahoNews.com officers received a call shortly after 10 p.m. The caller stated approximately 20 juveniles were “ready to fight” on the 700 block of Whittier St. near North Fanning Ave.

“There was talk about them having guns but when officers arrived most, if not all, of the kids were gone,” Cook says.

Over an hour later, at 11:30 p.m., police received another call that several shots had been fired on the same block of Whittier St.

Officers arrived and found shell casings in the area but again, most of the juveniles were gone.

“At this point, there’s no indication anyone was shot but we continue to investigate,” Cook says.

Police ask anyone with information on either of these incidents to contact them at (208) 529-1200.
