Star Valley Temple site not open to the public

  Published at

AFTON, Wyoming — Work on the Star Valley LDS Temple is moving forward at a rapid pace. The building is scheduled to be completed this fall. An open house for the building is set for Sept. 23 to Oct. 8. According to Jacobsen Construction, the public needs to wait until the open house to visit the temple grounds.

According to representatives from Jacobsen Construction, the active construction site is not safe for members of the public. In the last several weeks a number of safety concerns and situations on the site have been the direct result of members of the public walking onto or driving onto the construction site. The area is a hard hat required, active equipment area.

Members of the public on the site compromise the work that can get completed as well as pose a significant safety risk to themselves and the site workers. According to Jacobsen, there is a lot of excitement and support for the project, which has been and continues to be greatly appreciated. The public is welcome to take photos and stand outside of the fenced area of the site. However, entering the construction site is not allowed. Signs stating the area is closed to the public are in place. Fencing is also in place around the site for safety reasons.

Jacobsen encourages everyone to “be respectful of the work that is taking place in the area and to stay back.” According to representatives from Jacobsen Construction, the company invites everyone to visit the site during the upcoming open house.
