Fremont County issues burning ban

  Published at  | Updated at

ST. ANTHONY — Fremont County has issued a county-wide ban on all open burning due to high fire danger, according to Fremont County Emergency Management Coordinator Keith Richey.

The ban goes into effect immediately until further notice.

Richey says this does not include gas-fired grills, charcoal briquette grills or campfires in an designated fire pit.

A designated fire pit is defined as a pit of no less than 12” deep with a 10’ cleared radius of bare dirt/gravel radius around the pit.

Violation of the burn ban is a misdemeanor offense.

This does not apply to federal lands.
