Idaho Falls teen dies following ATV accident

IDAHO FALLS — The family of a 17-year-old girl injured in an ATV crash says the teenager passed away Wednesday evening.
MaKayla Erickson was injured after flipping the four-wheeleer on Tuesday, August 9 while driving near the corner of Canal Avenue and Highland Drive around 9 p.m.
Family members confirm MaKayla passed away at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center and her organs will be donated to those in need.
“Beautiful Kayla gained her wings today,” a message posted on a YouCaring site reads. “She leaves behind a heartbroken mother and three devastated brothers who will miss her dearly. Her smile and laugh was contagious and she has left a hole in the hearts of many people.”
Donations to cover funeral expenses are being accepted on the YouCaring site.
