AMMON — Kneaders, a Utah-based chain popular with many eastern Idahoans, is planning to open its first bakery cafe in east Idaho next month.

“We anticipate our opening to be near the end of September,” Emma Conger, a Kneaders spokeswoman, tells EastIdahoNews.com.

Kneaders had originally planned to open in Sand Creek Commons by the end of July. The building has not been completed yet, but is in the dry wall stage, according to the City of Ammon Building Department.

A building permit filed March 30 shows the building will be 4,214 square feet, with a kitchen and serving area of 2,226 square feet and a seating area of 1,618 square feet. Occupancy for the entire restaurant is 143.

An official opening date is expected to be announced as construction wraps up.
